Fabulous Edwardian/Art Nouveau, finely hand-carved, landscape, oval, shell cameo brooch.
Measuring 1 5/8" x 1 3/8" x 1/4" deep, this scenic cameo is bezel set into a gold gilt frame.
The early 1900s, single-prong, rollover clasp holds securely.
This stunning, antique, expertly carved landscape cameo depicts a dimensional Italian scene that includes cypress trees, foliage, rock etched building with a tower and wood-plank door, boulders leading down to water, a single female walking figure, and wispy clouds.
The attention to detail is wonderful!
This lovely 110+-year-old cameo brooch is in exceptional condition. No scratches, pitting, cracks, or grunge to front of shell cameo. There is a small sliver section of cameo missing from the lower back but I believe this occurred during its original construction and does not affect its integrity or wearability.
