Unique hand blown figure/paperweight in good pre-owned condition. Item is 10" long and 6" tall.

"A silver gray and black core done with balloon geometrical diamond pattern and bollinato bubble technique is then covered with a clear Sommerso glass. The feathered bubble effect is usually referred to as "fumato", which in glass terms means a gradual change of shade, which means "smoked", a technique which involves exposing the glass to smoke from a fire, to give the glass a smoky colour by picking up particles of unburnt ember and ash from the smoke. Considerable skill is required to carry out this operation successfully. This type of work was very popular in the mid 1960's or mid century modern."
