This model recreates the 1945 military chinos. While the split-seam construction and slanted pockets are typical of chinos, this style with metal buttons (stamped with "U.S. ARMY") on the front and welt pockets is rare even in vintage pieces. It features a deep rise and a relaxed, wide silhouette.
During World War I, soldiers' pants were the jodhpurs-style "BREECHES," but by World War II, they transitioned to trousers (slacks). These were officially adopted by the Army Air Forces in 1937. However, the trousers initially issued received poor reviews from soldiers, prompting the military to involve private companies to improve quality. As a result of these improvements, various types of military chinos were created.
