An original etching by listed German artist Harald Pickert who is a survivor of the Dachau concentration camp during WW2. It is titled "Summer in Friol" and signed "Harold Pickert" in pencil in the lower right margin. The etching depicts a mountainous countryside landscape in Friol, Spain. Etching is in a gold gilded oak frame. Overall dimensions approximately 13.25'' wide and 9.4'' tall. Please review all images. Some yellowing to paper. Otherwise in great conditon.

Harald Pickert was born in 1901 as the son of lawyer Karl Pickert and his wife Dolores, née Blumentritt, born in Leitmeritz in Bohemia. In 1903 the family moved to Kufstein.

Harald Pickert attended the Munich School of Applied Arts. He moved back to Leitmeritz. Pickert was arrested as a "political prisoner"and put in Dachau concentration camp.

After the war, Harald Pickert worked as an artist in Kufstein and created etchings & engravings.
