Opuntia littoralis leaf pad/nopales plant; this plant pack is 12 pads 4-7". This leaf pad can grow into a large mat producing hundreds of pads a year.


Produces edible fruit, flowers, and pads. Fast grower for an opuntia. Lives in 15F-120F climates. Groundcover opuntia, doesn't become a tree.


It has always been cared for and has never gotten treated with any chemicals or fertilizers other than organic mulch. Never used pesticides or insecticides on it.


It is edible and tastes much better than many similar opuntia or cacti species. Unlike many cacti, it isn’t as sour when used in cooking. I use it in various dishes, but my favorite is just grilling them because it makes them crunchy


Native to Baja california in mexico but have become naturalized all along coastal california, which is why people call it california prickly pear. It is also known as Coastal prickly pear and produces a large red fruit. Can be dryfarmed in california. I dryfarm it in the mojave desert on 2" of ra
