Vie Militaire Dans le Dakota; Notes et Souvenirs (1867-1869)

Rare old French book. Very nice condition for age. Has dust cover. From my understanding pages are originally kept together to be cut later and banded together. Original twine holding book together can see has split in middle of binding being held by one piece of twine, but pages to be separated and cut to be put back together doesn’t seem to be big issue. This book contains the memories and notes of General of the U. S. Army, Regis de Trobriand. Trobriand was born in France, immigrated to the United States in the 1840's and was commissioned as an officer in the Union Army during the American Civil War. In this book he writes of military life in the Dakota Territory between the years of 1867 and 1869.
